The Cochrane Pregnancy Care Centre is an information and counselling service. Counselling is provided by trained volunteers, under the direction of the Executive Director and is not intended as a substitute for professional counselling.
We are not a medical facility and, therefore, do not give out medical advice or items such as birth control pills or devices or the Morning After Pill (MAP). Our pregnancy tests are not intended to replace medical care. Only a licensed physician is qualified to diagnose a pregnancy.
The Cochrane Pregnancy Care Centre provides information on adoption and support through out the adoption procedure. We do not facilitate adoptions but refer to licensed adoption agencies.
Our counsel is that abortion compounds rather than solves the problem of a crisis pregnancy. The Cochrane Pregnancy Care Centre never advises, provides, or refers for abortions or abortifacients
Our Promise to You
We welcome you to our pregnancy care centre. Our centre is a non-profit christian ministry serving women, as well as their families and partners, who come seeking help in making decisions about thier pregnancies and related concerns. Your future is important to us, and we consider it an honor and privelege to be a part of your life, and assist you during such a critical time. As such we make the following promises to every person who walks through our door.
We are dedicated to providing a warm and safe environment for every one, regardless of age, race, income, nationality, religious affiliation or circumstances
You will be treated with kindness and compassion and may leave the centre whenever you wish
Your story will be listened to with respect and courtesy, and without judgement, ridicule or rejection
You have the right to withhold any information you do not want to share with a volunteer. All information shared will be held in strict and absolute confidence, except for the rare circumstance when prohibited by law.
You will receive accurate information about pregnancy, fetal development, life style issues and related concerns. The Cochrane Pregnancy Care Centre does not provide abortion or referral for abortion, but we are committed to offering accurate information about abortion procedures and risks
You may refuse any information you do not wish to receive
You will receive honest and open answers
You will be directed to other appropriate resources that could support you in your time of crisis and support you with additional help and information
You will be given on-going support in accordance with your needs
