Abortion Education & Support
Education for today & support for as long as you need it
If you’re pregnant and considering your abortion options, having unbiased, medically accurate information can help you make an informed decision. Cochrane Pregnancy Care Centre offers free, confidential abortion education, and we’ll be by your side regardless of your choice.
We also offer post-abortion support for women who want to talk about a past experience and process the emotions surrounding it.
Know More Before You Decide
Get clear, factual abortion information
It is your pregnancy, your right to know, and your decision. But taking the time to educate yourself will help you determine what’s best for you now and in the future.
You can speak confidentially with one of our trained Client Advocates in a safe, non-judgemental space. They’ll talk with you about your situation and concerns, offer general abortion education, and help you identify questions you may want to ask a healthcare provider.
If you’re uncertain, you can also learn about your other pregnancy options, including parenting and adoption, so you have the full picture. Ultimately, no matter what you choose, we’ll continue to provide you with care and emotional support.
Consider What Matters to You
Separate what you want from what others expect
There are many reasons a person might consider abortion. Some women believe it’s their best option, others want to explore all possible choices, and others still feel pressured by a partner, family, or friends.
There is no expectation that you arrive at the Centre knowing what you want to do. Our Client Advocates are there to listen, answer questions, provide you with abortion facts, and help you consider the information in front of you.
As you think about your decision, it can be helpful to ask yourself:
What are my biggest concerns about this pregnancy?
What factors are influencing my decision the most?
Am I feeling pressure from anyone to pick a particular option?
How will my choice affect my future and my physical, emotional, and mental health?
What would each pregnancy option mean for my life and circumstances?
How will I feel about my decision in a month, a year, or five years from now?
What additional information would help me make an informed choice?
Post-Abortion Support
There’s room for whatever you’re feeling
Although some women feel relief after an abortion experience, others experience sadness, grief, regret, or anger. These reactions can be immediate or even occur years later.
If you’re struggling, you don’t have to keep it to yourself. Cochrane Pregnancy Care Centre offers compassionate, confidential post-abortion support where you can openly share your experience and feelings.
It doesn’t matter whether your abortion was recent or decades ago; you can reach out whenever you feel ready.
Post-Abortion Recovery & Education
Choose the setting that’s most comfortable for you
Our Post-Abortion Recovery and Education (PARE) program is designed for women who would like a dedicated time to talk about an abortion experience, process their emotions, and work towards healing.
PARE is highly confidential and available in different formats. If you’ve been looking for a support group after abortion, our group option gives you an opportunity to participate alongside other women who have also had an abortion experience. If you would rather meet privately, we also offer one-on-one sessions.
